Alexander Ver Huell, illustrator > Acknowledgements
The Ver Huell Collection has been digitized with the help of a subsidy from Metamorfoze, the national programme for the preservation of Dutch paper heritage. A couple of years ago, the Collection was conserved by transferring the contents onto 12 preservation microfilms. Originals were used in most cases for the digitization process. A small part of the collection (3 layer-contrast 35 mm preservation microfilms) was scanned from the films themselves. The difference in the method of working explains why there are both black-and-white and colour scans on view.
The Ver Huell Collection at the Leiden Regional Archives also includes some work from other authors which contain only a few or no illustrations at all by Ver Huell. These have been left aside for the present project, as have old records listing all the items in the Collection as well as similar sources.
