Randstad
The employment agency Randstad was one of the earliest clients of Total Design and it remained with the agency for 25 years. Relationships between clients and design agencies are seldom so enduring. It is also unparalleled for a company to retain practically the same house style for such a long time.
At Total Design, Ben Bos and his team designed nearly all aspects of Randstad’s house style. The logo featuring a stylized double ‘R’ was created in 1967 and is still in use to this very day.
Posters, stationery, forms, calling cards, carrier bags, annual reports, diaries, the in-house publications Data and Revue and various other items followed. Moreover, the agency provided spatial designs for Randstad as well, such as illuminated signs, directional signage and interior decoration. The style of all these items is clear and functional, in other words without any unnecessary embellishments.
