Memory in Motion > Photographs
The collection contains 2000 photographs of programmes from television's past. They form a source of information about programmes of which the moving images in some cases were lost long ago.
It includes pictures from well-known television series like 't Schaep met de vijf pooten ('The Five-Legged Sheep') and De Stille Kracht ('The Silent Force'). Also included are photographs from legendary talk shows, like Voor de vuist weg ('Off the top of my head') and Mies en scène, and pictures of presenters and announcers, quiz masters and actors. Portraits of Paul de Leeuw and Bart de Graaff in their younger years are also included, and for instance the many pop artists that appeared as guests on the music programme Toppop ('Top of the Pops').
The set photos were made for promotional purposes. These pictures could also be used to recreate a background or set exactly the same way as during the previous shoot. What did Saartje's kitchen look like again in the Swiebertje series? And where was the sofa located in doctor Van Der Ploeg's living room?
The photographs were made in the period 1951-1992.
