Photo journalist. His career started in 1967 when his photo's of the Rolling Stones appeared in the magazine "Tuney Tunes". Established himself as an independent photographer in Amsterdam in 1979. His work appears frequently in various daily newspapers. Although he is known predominantly for his parliamentary photography, he also makes portraits by commission.

In 1989 he was named photo journalist of the year 1988.
