Documentary and portrait photographer. Already as a youngster he was gripped by photography and for a short period he worked as an assistant for Ed van der Elsken. From 1975 he worked for Vrij Nederland, making his name as a photographer. He also recieved commissions from the Amsterdam City Archives. Since 1982 he is resident photographer of publishing house the Arbeiderspers. From the seventies onwards his work has appeared in various publications and has frequently been on view at exhibitions.
