Oostzaan, 10 March 1952

Studied both at the Rietveld Academy and at the Rijksacademie van Beeldende Kunsten  in Amsterdam. With his fellow student Hans Aarsman and a number of others he founded the photo journal Plaatwerk in 1979. After graduation he worked as a freelance photographer for Vrij Nederland and Mensen van Nu. From 1980 onwards he contributed to various documentaries and exhibitions. He lives and works in Amsterdam.
