Documentary photographer. Leaves Germany for the Netherlands in 1970 where he first discovers photography and studies at the Rietveld Academy.

Since the beginning of the seventies he has been making social documentary works. Motivated by his social political consciousness, he makes reports on the Third World and the run down industrial areas in Europe. He also photographs the cultural life of minorities in Amsterdam. Since 1986 he does this in the form of 'tableaux vivants'.

His work has been on view at various exhibitions and has been published in ten photo books.
