Broadside ballads > Willem Schot
Willem Schot (1949) is a popular teacher of accordion and bagpipe courses, among others for the Hurdy-gurdy and Bagpipe Association. As a musician, he works as a violinist and bagpipe player, and has also played the concertina for years (especially those with one, two and three rows of keys). This diatonic accordion has experienced a real revival in the past 25 years.
Willem Schot mostly plays his own compositions and arrangements of existing music. He is also a composer of new dancing music and songs. He forms a regular duo together with Olle Gerris on the bagpipe. He accompanies Freek de Jonge in his performances on this website.
