Soprano Suze van Grootel was schooled at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam by famous mezzo-soprano and educator Cora Canne Meijer. She works mostly within the field of oratorio and song. Her repertoire ranges from the late Middle Ages to contemporary music. She performs regularly with various ensembles and orchestras both in the Netherlands and abroad.
Since 1988, she has been a member of the ensemble Camerata Trajectina, which is specialised in Dutch Renaissance and early baroque music. She has toured successfully with this group throughout Europe and the United States. Through the years, she has also recorded a successful series of CD's with this ensemble.
She has been a regular duo with pianist Kees Schul since 1988. Together, they have recorded three CD's with songs by Poulenc, Strauss and Mendelssohn.
