Frisian troubadour Bennie Huisman (Heerenveen 1947) performs both in Dutch and in Frisian. He sings, makes music and tells stories in living rooms, theatres and churches, on streets and various other locations. He recorded three albums in Frisian: Lietsjes, Fan'e souder op 'e flier and S⮦urd. He has also published a novella under the latter title, and a 'personal travel book' under the title Quatta Reisskrift (in three volumes).
The CD Hoor thans weer die droeve mare has recently appeared, featuring ten real tearjerkers performed by Huisman, who accompanies himself on accordion.
