Gerrit Rietveld's work is protected by copyright. Rietveld's heirs have placed the rights with Pictoright. The Centraal Museum has bought out the rights for use on the website The Memory. Restrictions have been put on the maximum resolution of the images, the pictures not being allowed to have a resolution of more than 600 x 800 pixels.

The pictures may only be consulted for one's own practice, studies or use or for educational or scientific purposes, taking into account the moral rights of the copyright owners in accordance with article 25 of the Copyright Act and not for direct or indirect economic or commercial advantage.

Prior permission for other use of the images is necessary from Pictoright.
