Illegal Pamphlets and Brochures > NIOD
The Netherlands Institute for War Documentation in Amsterdam administers the archives of the German occupation of the Netherlands and the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies in addition to photographs, illegal newspapers, brochures, pamphlets and books. The Institute was established shortly after the war on 8 May 1945 and functions as the centre of expertise in the study of the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies during World War II.
NIOD's brief is:
- to collect, preserve, open up and render available archives about World War II;
- to conduct research and publish the results;
- to supply information to the media, government institutions and private individuals.
