Archeological finds from the Netherlands > About the collection
The objects in this collection were found at archeological excavations in the Netherlands. The oldest object is more than 250.000 years old, the most recent one dates from around 1600. The objects and the place were they were found tell us something about the early dwellers in these regions and their way of life.
The collection "archeology in the Netherlands" is divided into:
- The Netherlands in prehistoric times (c. 250.000 BC – 50 BC)
- The Netherlands in the Roman Period (c. 50 BC – 300 AD)
- The Netherlands in Middle Ages (300 – 1550 AD)
