- Omgeven door spelende kinderen staan twee vrouwen voor een gebouwtje in de openlucht in teiltjes de was te doen. Vaag, op de achtergrond, een vrouw die haar was te drogen hangt. Het gebouwtje is de zogenaamde Cartesische bron. De watertoren was afgesloten door de Indonesiërs waardoor de bron als enige watertoevoer voor de 4.000 inwoners overbleef. Om de keukens van water te voorzien vormden de vrouwen een menselijke ketting van de bron tot aan de keukens, om het water in emmers door te geven. De rij overbrugde een afstand van ongeveer 250 meter.
