Collection of literature of the Voortrekkers
‘Voortrekkers’ (pioneers) were white South African farmers who emigrated between 1830 and 1850 from Cape Colony, that had been annexed by the British, to the region around the Orange River. The Great Trek, as it was called, lead to the founding of the Boer republics Transvaal and Orange Free State.
