- Description
- The Shelfish club was a musical society in Utrecht. The name was derived from social evenings in Cologne, the birth place of a German painter, where 'schelvis' (haddock) was served. The English sounding shelfish is the German pronunciation of the Dutch word 'schelvis' and not a miss-spelling of shellfish.
