- Vanuit een achtertuin kijkt men op de muur van een huis aan de Tweede J.C. Mensinglaan in Aalsmeer. Achter het kleine rechthoekige raam staat een wereldbol. De in totaal 24 eengezinswoningen zijn ontworpen door J. van der Berg. Ze werden 1956 gebouwd, gedurende de wederopbouwfase. De nieuwe woonwijk werd net als andere wijken in Nederland gebouwd in een stijl die voor de oorlog gebruikelijk was. dat waren woningen opgetrokken uit baksteen en andere traditionele materialen. Woningbouwvereniging Aalsmeer nam het beheer op zich en verhuurde de huizen. Onder de huurders zijn het gewilde woningen. Sommige bewoners wonen er al vanaf de oplevering, anderen wonen er nog niet zo lang.
