- Description
- Veel gebruiksvoorwerpen uit de 17de en 18de eeuw zijn versierd met voorstellingen betreffende de V.O.C. Zij zijn de neerslag van een roemruchtig verleden. De bewindhebbers lieten gegraveerde glazen maken. Daarmee brachten ze een gezamenlijke dronk uit op de behouden vaart van de schepen die naar Aziƫ voeren. In 1774 schonk de V.O.C. stadhouder Willem V een eetservies van 400 delen. Op zes van de borden van dit servies stonden de Oost-Indische Huizen van de kamers afgebeeld.
