- De heer en mevrouw Loderus kijken vanuit hun keuken aan het Klaverhof in Nagele naar buiten. Als pioniers van Nagele hebben zij het dorp zien ontstaan. Het dorp, gebouwd vanaf 1956, is gelegen in de Noordoostpolder. Bij de inrichting van de polder had de planning van nederzettingen grote aandacht. In de Wieringermeer (Noord-Holland) hadden de ontwerpers bij de aanleg de groei van de dorpen aan het toeval overgelaten. Dat bleek geen succes. In de Noordoostpolder besloot men daarom een hiƫrarchie aan te brengen. Emmeloord vormde het hoofdcentrum met daaromheen tien dorpen. Het aantal dorpen werd afgeleid van de fietsafstand van de landarbeiders. Daar zij zich verplaatsten met de fiets mochten de dorpen niet meer dan acht kilometer uit elkaar liggen, ofwel een half uur fietsen. Door de mechanisering van de landbouw en de toegenomen mobiliteit kwam er echter niets terecht van deze plannen. De dorpen werden wel gebouwd, maar doordat steeds meer mensen een auto aanschaften was de fietsafstand niet meer van toepassing. Bovendien werkten steeds minder mensen in de landbouw.
