Afrikaans Language Monument, Paarl

The Afrikaans Language Monument was unveiled on 10 October 1975, in Paarl. The monument commemorates the recognition of Afrikaans as one of the official languages of South Africa in 1925. It was built on a hill overlooking the Western Cape province, the cradle of Afrikaans.
