Albert Verwey, Eighteen quatrains for the Beurs van Berlage. Manuscript
In 1903, the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam was completed. The decoration of the interior of the building was carried out according to Verwey’s plan. Affluence for society was more important for him than personal gain in his decoration program. This theme was expressed by Verwey as eighteen quatrains. They were carved into the walls of the Beurs van Berlage.
