The photographic collection of the South Africa House consists of more than 4800 photos. The collection contains numerous images depicting people, flora and fauna and geographic and cultural aspects. Moreover, the photos are especially interesting from a historical point of view. The collection shows the history of South Africa over the past 125 years, in particular the relations between the Netherlands and South Africa.

Photos of the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902) form an important sub collection. It is said to be the first war documented through photography.
