Photo collection illustrated magazine Het Leven (1906-1941) > Weekly magazine
The front page of Het Leven dated Saturday 9 November 1929. Under the heading ‘Panic on stock market and victims of speculation' a photo is shown of massive crowds flocking towards Wall Street Stock Exchange in New York after the stock market crash. This resulted in the great economic depression of the 1930s, the effects of which were extensively covered in Het Leven over the following years.
The layout of the front page of the magazine remained more or less unchanged from the beginning to the end of its existence. The editorial pages with news, photos, short stories and serial stories were placed in a striking yellow cover, with the same heading. This also included the advertisements.
