Atlases > The atlas programme
The digitization of Atlas Van der Hagen and Atlas Beudeker is a joint project of the Koninklijke Bibliotheek and the British Library. The atlas programme is intended for use in visual research. It has rapid browsing and zooming facilities and a user-friendly interface. Name (artists, publishers), place and headword indexes are linked with the illustrations. The indexes provide detailed information and refer to related sources.
The digitization project is part of a cooperative agreement signed by the Koninklijke Bibliotheek and the British Library on 20 September 1995. The agreement has four objectives.
- Expand the access to catalogues and collections
- Develop joint solutions with the assistance of ICT
- Design joint projects
- Develop state-of-the-art network services.
