The Rijn en Lek mill in Wijk bij Duurstede (Utrecht)
The Rijn en Lek mill stands on top of the only surviving city gate of the town of Wijk bij Duurstede. Thanks to its unique location next to the water meadow outside the city wall, it nearly always catches good wind. The mill was built in 1659 to make the finely ground oak bark used in tanneries. Nowadays it is a grain mill.
