Mills of the Overwaard district in Kinderdijk (South Holland)
The Kinderdijk area, which is on the Unesco World Heritage List, numbers a total of 19 mills in the former water board districts of Nederwaard and Overwaard. The image on view here features four of the eight mills in the Overwaard district: they have been used to drain the polders since 1740. These polders and mills are of special interest because they have been preserved exactly as they were laid out or built in the 18th century.
