Earthenware
During the excavation of a 19th-century cargo ship in the eastern part of Flevoland some 500 pieces of earthenware were discovered. They included colanders, coffee pots, teapots and chamber pots - in addition to a load of bituminous coal. The cargo was stowed in the fore cabin and afterhold and under the box bed.
The ship, a type of praam, sank in the Zuyder Zee somewhere between 1850 and 1875.
