Ameira murinus, now known as Teius teyou (Daudin, 1802), called the four-toed whiptail lizard.
The four-toed whiptail lizard, a lizard found in Suriname, was painted in watercolour by Gerrit Schouten. Gerrit Schouten was a Surinamese artist well-known for his dioramas depicting scenes of everyday life in Suriname. He is less well-known for his collection and drawings of flora and fauna. This print comes from Hermann Schlegel who was director of National Natural History Museum in Leiden (now called Naturalis) from 1860 to 1884.
