- De afbeelding van een bruiloftsvoorbereiding is van een fresco uit de Augusteïsche Tijd (ca. 30 v.C.-14 n.C.). Het originele fresco werd in 1606 in Rome opgegraven en ingemetseld in het buitenhuis te Albano van kardinaal Pietro Aldobrandini (1572 1621). Het fresco werd een bezienswaardigheid, o.a. voor de ‘Grand Tour’ isten, die vaak een ongemonteerd waaierblad mee naar huis namen. Links naast de afbeelding van het fresco de pyramide van Cestius en rechts de kerk St. Constanza te Rome met een ornamentering van grotesken. Signering Le Brun op het blad op de steen onder de zittende jongeman.
