- Een zittende vrouw en een staande man kijken vanuit de galerij van hun flat op de Gilleswijk in Delft. Op de achtergrond hangen aan de verschillende woningen klompen met daarin bloemen. Het flatgebouw werd door het architectenbureau J.P. van Eesteren N.V. ontworpen. De 197 woningen werden in 1969 gebouwd volgens de era-bouwmethode. Bij deze bouwwijze is een splitsing gemaakt tussen het bouwen van het dragende systeem (de muren en de vloeren) en van het inbouwpakket (onder anderen kozijnen en deuren). Alle onderdelen werden in de fabriek gemaakt en volledig afgewerkt aangevoerd. Op de bouwplaats hoefden de onderdelen slechts te worden gemonteerd. De woning kon zo in korte tijd worden gebouwd. Dit werd als een groot voordeel gezien, omdat er in Nederland in de jaren zestig nog steeds woningnood heerstte. Veel mensen bezaten geen eigen woning. Door de mechanisatie van de woningbouw na 1945 werden nieuwe en snellere technieken uitgevonden om de woningproductie op te voeren. De era-bouwmethode is daar een voorbeeld van.
