- Description
- This map was the result of a collective publication by the Amsterdam publisher Nicolaas Visscher II (1649-1702) and the London publisher John Overton (1640-1713). The map was originally dedicated to the English king James II who reigned between 1685 and 1688. After the ascention to the English throne of stadholder William III and Mary Stuart in April 1689, Visscher changed the original dedication and replaced it by a dedication to the new King and Queen.
