‘Dat heerlijke kerstfeest’ is a curious children’s book from the 1910s. The German original was called ‘O Weihnachtszeit, o sel'ge Zeit’. There are also French (‘Joyeux Noël! Radieux Noël’) and Italian (‘Luci e sorrisi di Natale’) editions. The illustrations are by Pauli Ebner (1873-1949), an Austian artist. Father Christmas looks different from what we are used to in the Netherlands.
