A. Dodel-Port
Between 1878 and 1893, the Swiss botanist Arnold Dodel-Port completed the Dodel-Port Atlas. This series of 42 botanical charts is frequently included in the collections of Dutch universities. The series turned out extremely well from an aesthetic point of view. Arnold Dodel was extraordinary professor of botany in Zurich. He correspondended with – among others – Charles Darwin. In 1875 he married Carolina Port with whom he was to make a number of the charts included in the Dodel-Port Atlas. The chart to the left features the passion flower (Passiflora).
