- Description
- Amsterdam was the most important centre of production and distribution of maps in the 17th and 18th centuries. Not only common maps, but also more luxurious products such as wall maps, atlases, globes and large-size panoramas of important Dutch and foreign cities were available. Such panoramas were available in different formats, varying from 1 to 8 sheets. This panorama of Bergen op Zoom, seen from the east, was published in Amsterdam in 1634.
