- This map of Anatolia, the governmental and political center of the great Turkish Empire, was published in 1635 by Willem Jansz. (1571-1638) and Joan Blaeu (1598-1673). Father and son Blaeu derived the image from a 16th-century example by the Italian cartographer Giacomo Gastaldi (1500-1566).
