- Description
- The plan of Amsterdam was published for the first time in the town book by Johannes Janssonius (1588-1664). Janssonius carefully copied the plan from an earlier plan from the town book of Joan Blaeu in 1649. Frederik de Wit (1630-1706) acquired the copper plate from the inheritance of Janssonius and published the plan under his own name in his town books.
