Van Delden (die in september 1942 ter dood veroordeeld werd, kort daarna gratie kreeg en in verschillende gevangenissen en tuchthuizen in Nederland en Duitsland verblijf heeft gehouden) wordt in de nazomer van 1944 van Rheinbach naar het tuchthuis Kassel-Wehlheiden gebracht, vandaar plm. 6 weken later naar het tuchthuis Coswig. Hij werkt daar aan de grote autoweg en het is er, in tegenstelling met zijn vorige verblijf, vrij goed, maar na een paar weken komt hij in het tuchthuis Rosslau; daar zijn de toestanden, evenals op de fabriek of scheepswerf van de gebroeders Saksenberg, waar hij tewerkgesteld wordt, in alle opzichten zeer slecht. plm. half april worden de gevangenen losgelaten. Zij moeten elders een z.g.n. ontslagbewijs gaan halen; van Delden gaat met twee vrienden op pad en krijgt het tenslotte in Coswig. Op weg naar Dessau, van waaruit de repatriatietransporten geregeld worden, trekt het drietal eind april de Elbe over naar door de Amerikanen bezet gebied, maar krijgt, in Mildensee, geen verlof voor de overtocht van de Mulde, tot van Delden ziek wordt en met spoed naar het ziekenhuis in Dessau (bunker), weldra naar Dessau/Ziebigk wordt gebracht. Typhus, later nog pleuris. De verzorging is zeer goed, zowel hier als in de ziekenhuizen te Cöthen en Dölau, waarheen van Delden resp. 18 en 25 juni wordt vervoerd i.v.m. transportmogelijkheid naar Nederland. 10 augustus breekt het dagboek af; waarschijnlijk heeft het transport toen plaats gehad
