Just look, there isn’t there what there is. March – June 1976
Kijk maar, er staat niet wat er staat (Just look, there isn’t there what there is) was the second of a series of highly successful educational exhibitions the museum put on in the 1970s in cooperation with teachers from secondary schools. Most of these exhibitions were held in the former annex of the museum on Maliebaan in Utrecht. The photograph on view holds a special place in the collection of pictures of exhibitions at the Centraal Museum: it is the only one to feature the photographer! Clearly, the photographer thought a self-portrait had a rightful place in the series. Unfortunately, it proved impossible to trace the photographer’s name. He was, most probably, a member of the Utrecht Archives’ photographic service.
