- Aan de achterzijde van Wezenland in Deventer staan rond het parkeerterrein woningen. Het architectenbureau Klein maakte de ontwerpen en in 1966 werd de middelhoogbouw in de woonwijk Keizerslanden gebouwd. Vanaf 1945 was de woningnood in Nederland volksvijand nummer één. Tot in de jaren zestig bleef de vraag naar woningen groot. Om aan de vraag te kunnen voldoen moest er sneller gebouwd worden. En omdat de lonen en prijzen stegen werden de bouwkosten ook steeds hoger, waardoor er gezocht werd naar goedkope alternatieven. Het voordeel van een flat van vier verdiepingen was dat er geen lift nodig was. De kosten werden zo laag gehouden met als gevolg dat veel van dit soort woningen in geheel Nederland gebouwd werden. Tot deze hoogt hoefde er namelijk geen lift aanwezig te zijn. De huren van de flats aan het Wezenland waren relatief hoog. Dit kwam doordat in deze huurwoningen centrale verwarming zat. Door het eenzijdige karakter van de wijk verhuisden veel mensen naar het oosten van Deventer, waar de huizen veelzijdiger zijn. De woningbouwvereniging Woonunie besloot daarom in 1992 de buitengevels te verfraaien. De flats zoals men ze op de foto ziet zijn niet meer herkenbaar.
