- Description
- Humoristische tekeningen van "kwalen" die in kamp Gloegoer op Sumatra voorkwamen naast ziektes als dysenterie, malaria enz: "enlarged ears, due to swiping mosquitoes and listening to wonderful rumours; bean basher's thumb (which needs no explanation); rice belly, which offends the aesthetic, but causes no pain and has a comforting significance; bed sores, due to spending many hours in idle sleep on levely soft boards; horny hands, due to slaving among the stones, the oil drums and the scrap iron; and, finally, a strange incipient orientalisme observed in some of our members..?"
