Witte illegalen in hongerstaking. De nieuwe wetgeving schreef voor dat gastarbeiders circa 10 jaar ononderbroken in loondienst moesten zijn geweest om in aanmerking te komen voor een verblijfsvergunning. Aangezien de meesten seizoenarbeid hadden gedaan werden zij bedreigd met uitzetting.
