- Description
- This map of Ost-Friesland was created by Ubbo Emmius (1547-1625) but was originally published in an atlas by Willem Jansz. Blaeu (1571-1638) in 1630. After some time the copper plate ended up in the hands of the Amsterdam publishers Petrus Schenk (1660-1717/1718) and Gerard Valck (c. 1650-1726). They published this edition of the map. The area which was flooded on 25 December 1717 during the so-called Christmas flooding was coloured.
