- Description
- Spotprent op Johan van Oldenbarnevelt en de remonstranten, 1618. Van Oldenbarnevelt en zijn medestanders staan links vooraan bij een jezuïet. In het midden probeert 'Bedeckte Tirannie', een als monnik vermomde duivel, de Nederlandse Leeuw en Belgica in de Hollandse Tuin met een olijftak tot vrede te verleiden. Rechtsboven schudt Maurits aan de grote zeef genaamd 'Hooch Nodich'. In de lucht verdrijft Tijd de furiën Twist, Bedrog en Geweld. Linksboven de komeet. Op de achtergrond Utrecht. De figuren met de gouden stok op de voorgrond zijn genummerd, maar de verklaring van de cijfers ontbreekt.
