The emergency money of Sassenheim belongs to the more secure types. It was printed in unknown quantities with a total value of 20,000 guilders.

It is unique that the notes had safeguards against forgery. The text 'noodgeld gemeente Sassenheim' (Emergency mony municipality of Sasseneheim) had been printed several times on the background, and each denomination had a different letter printed upside down. After printing, every note was given a number by the municipality and was stamped with Mayor’s signature. The money was, however, never brought into circulation.
