Castella
Advertisement for 'Castella Vaatwas' (Castella Dishwasher detergent). The brand name Castella, derived from the Spanish word Castilië, was devised in 1934. This imaginary name sounded Spanish because one of the ingredients used was olive oil. Rather than using the different names for the soaps and toiletries, managing director Reinier Dobbelmann introduced one strong brand name: Castella. This name was later also used for dishwasher and washing machine detergents.
