- In zo'n gebouw gebruikt een tiental mannen tweemaal daags na het palmwijntappen gemeenschappelijk hun maaltijd. Hoewel feitelijk een eethuis, wordt het meestal een drankhuis genoemd door het bij het eten genuttigde sagero. In de lingat is een houten beeld op voetstuk aanwezig, ubu lingat, welke als ubila (oebilaä) wordt aangesproken een aan wie plengoffers gegeven worden. Dit model is vervaardigd te Awéar in 1926 en is de trouwe afbeelding van een lingat zoals die vroeger bij Ngevu stonden, nabij kampong Awéar te Fordata, een complex waarvan reeds in de 17e eeuw gewag is gemaakt. het model heeft drie kora, hoornversieringen, op het dak, terwijl normaliter twee van deze versieringen aangebracht worden. De vervaardiger, Donatus Seöe, inwoner van kampong Awéar, ongeveer 40 jaar oud, zag zijn vader een soortgelijke lingat bouwen, naar diens familietraditie
