- Dit messing Zuid-Hollandse oorijzer was al vóór de Tweede Wereldoorlog in bezit van het Nederlands Openluchtmuseum. Volgens een opmerking in het inventarisboek zou het gedragen zijn door een koopvrouw uit Dordrecht. Als datering staat erbij: 1898. Aangezien het oorijzer werd verworven van het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam en bovendien de aantekening '1898' draagt is het mogelijk dat het deel uit heeft gemaakt van de tentoonstelling Nationale Kleederdrachten Harer Majesteits Onderdanen in 1898 in Amsterdam. Het is dan echter niet duidelijk bij welk kostuum dit ijzer gehoord zou hebben.
