- Reliëf 0.110 van de 160 basreliëfs van de (nog steeds) verborgen voet van de Borobudur die de Karmavibhanga illustreren. Gefotografeerd door Kassian Cephas in 1890-1891. — Het hoofdthema van de reliëfs draait om beloning en vergelding. Tegelijkertijd geven ze een beeld van het dagelijkse leven op Java in de achtste en negende eeuw. Naast conventionele afbeeldingen van hemel en hel zijn scènes uit het dagelijkse leven te zien van aardse ideologieën en verlangens, wereldse successen en drama's, van goede en slechte zaken die het gevolg zijn van daden uit het verleden en bepalen of de mens in de toekomst beloning of vergelding te wachten staat. — Dit paneel heeft drie scènes. In de rechter zien we hoe twee mannen reizigers aanvallen. Het oudere slachtoffer steekt zijn hand op als teken van zwak protest terwijl de jongere hem probeert te beschermen. In de tweede scène toont het berouw van degenen die fout zijn. Nu knielen ze voor een eerbiedwaardige asceet om goede levenslessen te ontvangen. — De twee opeenvolgende scènes van kwaad en berouw hebben grote gevolgen voor de toekomst. De kwaadaardigen worden eerst gestraft in de hel, maar brengen daar maar de helft van het leven door. Het wordt verbeeld in een succesvolle ontsnappingsscène uit de eeuwig kokende ketel.
