- Deze Engelse overzichtskaart toont het eiland Spitsbergen, dat door de Engelsen Groenland werd genoemd. Het gehele kaartbeeld wordt omlijst door afbeeldingen uit het leven van de walvisvaarders. Linksboven wachten de harpoeniers in de sloepen totdat de walvis boven komt. Dan werpt de harpoenier met beide handen de harpoen in de walvis. Met een lens wordt de walvis doodgestoken. De sloepgasten roeien de vis naar het schip. Een van de speksnijders staat boven op de drijvende walvis het spek af te snijden. Aan land wordt het spek in de oven tot traan gekkokt en in vaten verpakt. Men brengt walvisbaarden aan land om ze daar schoon te maken. Verder laat de tekening zien hoe walrussen en ijsberen gedood worden. In de laatste tekening is de kuiper aan het werk Uit: Thomas Edge: Purchas His Pilgrimes, 1625
