- De chapeau clacque, inklapbare hoge mannenhoed, werd in 1823 uitgevonden. Deze hoed dateert vermoedelijk van omstreeks 1900. Als herkomst van deze hoed staat in de registratie Friesland genoemd. De hoed is echter aangeschaft bij de firma H.A. Timmerman in Leiden. Deze firma komt in de telefoongids van 1915 voor.
